This summer, our CFJ Manufacturing team had the pleasure of attending the Women’s Business Council – Southwest (WBCS) Construction & Manufacturing Industry Summit in Coppell, Texas. This focused, half-day summit brought together professionals across the industry to network, gain insight into procurement trends, and discuss the evolving landscape of construction and manufacturing.
The event offered something for everyone—from small business owners and corporate partners to those navigating procurement and supply chain challenges in real time.
Key Takeaways and Industry Insight
The day featured meaningful conversations on the current state of the industry, including the impact of global tariffs and how businesses are adapting to ongoing economic shifts. One of the highlights for our team was hearing from our very own CEO, Sharon Evans, who was featured on the panel discussion about how manufacturing is evolving.
She shared insights from decades of experience in contract manufacturing, supply chain agility, and workforce development—and how women-owned businesses like CFJ are leading the way with innovation, speed, and flexibility.

From networking with fellow WBEs and corporate partners to exploring vendor tables and learning more about upcoming opportunities, the summit was a valuable space for building both relationships and momentum. In a constantly shifting environment, events like this one help all of us move forward—stronger and smarter—together.
